Ozomatli Portland reviews
Morrissey @ Terminal 5-NYC 10/13/12
Terminal 5 is a very strange venue, in short. They opened the doors early, leading us to an outside bar on the roof where we stood on a secondary line. My girlfriend and I found a pretty good vantage point on the first mezzanine, lucky enough. Throughout the night, many other people were circulating, looking for a spot. The sound seemed a little fuzzy at times, which is acceptable. The lights and video were really cool.
The opening act wasn't too good, to point it bluntly. Kristen Young, the person called the opening act, called herself mediocre and labeled her past work horrible as she mumbled on stage. To top it off, she dropped the mic during her second song. (She performed for about 30 mins.)
Simply amazing was Ozomatli, the main act. Ozomatli's singing abilities mesmerized my girlfriend, who has never heard of them. I would have wanted some different songs on the setlist, my only gripe. They interacted with the crowd and certainly left a huge impact on the audience. They played for about an hour and 40 minutes.
